Terms of Service

You need to be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract under Australian law. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.

Deals on stubby come from three places: community members posting them directly, verified businesses posting official offers, and automated imports from public RSS feeds of other deals communities (currently OzBargain and TopBargains, credited on each imported deal).

We don't control retailer pricing, stock, or terms, and prices and availability change fast. A deal being listed, including business-verified ones, isn't a guarantee it's still valid, accurate, or the best available price. Always check the actual price and terms on the retailer's own site before buying. “Get this deal” links take you to a third-party site we don't control or endorse.

You keep ownership of the deals, comments, and other content you post. By posting, you give us a licence to display it on stubby (and its normal distribution, like search results). You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, spam, or content you don't have the rights to.

Voting drives what rises to the top of the feed. A deal that accumulates enough downvotes is automatically removed from public view. This is automatic community moderation, not a statement by us about the deal or its poster. We also review reported deals and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, at our discretion.

Registering a business requires a real, active ABN, which we check against the Australian Business Register's ABN Lookup service. We separately, manually verify new businesses before their deals are flagged as official. Verification confirms you're a real registered business. It isn't our endorsement of your offers or business practices.

The stubby name, logo, and site design belong to us. Deal content sourced from third parties (like OzBargain or TopBargains) remains attributed to its source and belongs to its original authors. We display it as an aggregator/discovery layer, same as any RSS reader.

stubby is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for losses arising from a deal being inaccurate, expired, or a bad purchase you made based on something posted here. That risk sits with you and the retailer, not us. Nothing here limits any consumer guarantee you can't contract out of under the Australian Consumer Law.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, posts spam or fraudulent deals, or abuses the voting or reporting systems. You can close your account any time. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data when you do.

We may update these terms as the site changes. Continuing to use stubby after an update means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
